Deconstructed Jacket

The original look of the jacket, taken by Somruethai Bunprasert

De-constructed jacket were part of our research being able to changed form and structured of a jacket which I have used one of my friend's old jacket. Started from unpicking the lining, pockets and collars. I have recorded from the start of the original jacket. I have used Photoshop (CAD) to create a collage to present my images.

Design idea one, recreating the structure changed the fastening onto the neckline which could be hidden space for a hood.
This is showing images that I have recorded the details and style I have recreated using bobbing pins to keep the pieces together. For this idea I have changed the hood on the original jacket for the hidden pocket inside the jacket which can be access inside the jacket and on the side of the jacket. I have also removed the original front zip fastening onto the shoulder line and the neckline this could be use to be fastened with the hood inside.

My second idea I started from using the lining as the base for the jacket then unpicked the collar and buttons stripe off and reconstructed it onto the lining.

This is showing images that I have recorded for my second idea. For this I have used the original lining of the jacket as the main bodice of the jacket, using pieces to create some sort of V shape for the neckline but facing towards left side of the jacket. I have replace the zip fastening back on the jacket fastening and used the original jacket pieces on top of the main bodice jacket and replace the pocket on the lining piece and on the sleeve.

From doing the de-constructed jacket I have gained the ideas of recreating things, looking at designing a jacket with its specialise details.

These are part of my primary research and my development throughout this assignment. Created and taken by Somruethai Bunprasert available more on my Pinterest via http://www.pinterest.com/SomruethaiB/made-in-britain-development-design-ideas-and-final/
